Land not farmed for over seven years

BEAUTIFUL, secluded but in need of work, an 80 acre holding at Gortrush, Piltown, Co Kilkenny, is due to go for auction on June 9 by James O’Donoghue of Shee and Hawe Auctioneers.

The recently-appointed agent waxes lyrical about the farm, but makes no bones in saying that it will need an upgrade.

It hasn’t been farmed for over seven years, he says, and its owner was quite reclusive, which meant the land wasn’t let for that period either.
