ICMSA welcomes milk price decision

THE Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association (ICMSA) said yesterday that a decision by Connacht Gold to hold milk price for March was welcome.

Mayo chairperson John Comer said he hoped the co-op would continue to hold milk price going forward as this is necessary to support farmers’ incomes.

Mr Comer said the spring period has been a disaster for farmers given the poor grass growth conditions and the resultant requirement on farmers to buy in substantial quantities of fodder and feedstuffs.
