Few fail BSE testing

ONLY eight UK cattle aged over 30 months tested positive for BSE from January to September in 2004.

Many of the cattle going through their OTMS destruction scheme were tested, along with casualty and fallen animals and some 24 to 30 months cattle.

In the same period, over 30 months testing revealed 27 positives in Spain, 26 in Germany, 17 in Ireland, 16 in France and 15 in Portugal.
