Ireland shares a welcome recovery in the lamb trade

Trading for the week at the processors opened on Monday showing an improvement of 6 to 9 cents/kg (2p to 3p/lb) on the starting price of a week earlier, giving producers the first ray of hope for some time.

Twenty four hours later, there was a further hardening in the prices, with 6 cents/kg (2p/lb) being added, bringing the base price to a range from 403 back to 398 cents/kg (144p-142p/lb) for Tuesday’s kill at the factories.
