Beet pay exceptions

FARMERS whose sugar-beet production was adversely affected in one or more of the reference years (2001, 2002 and 2004), because of exceptional or force majeure circumstances, can request that their Single Farm Payment entitlements be based on the year, or years, not affected.
Beet pay exceptions

If production was affected during all of the reference years, compensation (entitlements) will be based on the sugar-beet-contracted quantity in 2000. Force majeure could involve, for example, the death of the farmer, or his long-term incapacity, or a natural disaster befalling the farmer’s lands.

The closing date for the receipt of applications for entitlements is April 21, 2006.
