FARMERS who have successfully completed their single farm payment application have been urged by the Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers’ Association to help their elderly neighbours complete their forms.

Malcolm Thompson, president, said a lot of older farmers are required to make their area aid application for the first time under the new system.

The single payment application form is complex and could prove daunting to people not familiar with it.
