CLEANER beet will deliver significant environmental benefits to the country's 3,800 growers and to Irish Sugar, part of the Greencore group.
Growers urged to supply cleaner beet

That's the view of Dr Sean Brady, chief executive, Irish Sugar, which has produced a new cleaner beet training video with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approval and support.

The aim is to achieve a 20% reduction (27,000 tonnes) in the 134,000 tonnes of soil delivered on average to the company's sugar factories in Carlow and Mallow each year with beet for processing.
