Entitlement letdown for 3,000 farmers

THERE was bad news for 3,000 farmers in the latest revision of EU Single Farm Payment entitlements.

That's how many additional farmers have dropped below €10,000 per year in entitlements, compared to the Department of Agriculture's initial assessment of how farmers will fare in the changeover.

Farmers entitled to a Payment of less than €10,000 per annum now represent more than three in every four.
