THE Irish Dairy Board is hoping for a measurable improvement in export markets for most dairy products during the coming year.

Managing director Dr Noel Cawley said it was likely to experience some fluctuation in prices, particularly in the first few months of 2003.

Export licence applications for the first quarter of the new year are running well ahead of early 2002 levels and should serve to improve the overall market balance within the EU.
