TILLAGE farmers were urged yesterday not to sell their grain short and to shop around for a price.

IFA grain committee chairman Paddy Harrington said the market for green grain is hardening. Growers should demand a minimum of €100/t and €110/t for green barley and wheat, respectively, he said.

Farmers lobbied members of Dairygold’s Mallow regional committee the previous evening as they arrived for a meeting in the town.
