Although the supply into factories has increased to match the level of 12 months ago, strong demand for beef in Britain, and tighter availability of imports have resulted in prices strengthening over the past week.
Most of the Irish factories quoted from 266 back to 260 cents/kg (95p to 93p/lb) for R and O grade animals this week, representing an improvement of up to 8 cents/kg (3p/lb) for O grade animals, and of 6 cents/kg (2p/lb) for R grade prices.
