Action urged on biofuels
Speaking at the IFA conference on biofuel yesterday, association president John Dillon said: “With oil prices breaching $60 per barrel and a strengthening US dollar, there is an urgent need to develop an Irish bio-fuels industry.
“Exemptions from excise and tax incentives are crucial if the Government is serious about reducing our dependence on imported fossil fuels and meeting our targets under the EU biofuels directive and the Kyoto Protocol.”
