Walsh pledges to be a voice for all farmers
The 47-year-old intensive dairy farmer from Durrow, Co Laois, a former IFA National Dairy Committee chairman, says he can build a better future for farming and an environment in which the industry can develop and grow, because farming should be more than survival.
“I believe I have the experience, commitment, negotiating skills and track record to represent your interests most effectively in these difficult times for our industry”, he says. “The new challenges facing farmers demand a radical approach from the IFA in its dealings with the Government, the EU, and with food processing and retail sectors. I am committed to developing new relationships, which will ensure that farmers are treated as equal partners”, he adds.
