THE country's dairy co-ops have been urged to help farmers cope with an extremely difficult year by holding the July milk prices.

IFA president John Dillon issued the plea when he announced the association would hold four milk price meetings before the co-op board makes its decision on July prices. Farmers have taken a huge cut in income and co-ops must help them, he said.

IFA National Dairy Committee chairman Michael Murphy called for a large turnout of dairy farmers at the milk price meetings.
