LIMERICK farmers have undergone a rapid change of heart in their relationship with native son, John Dillon, the leader of the IFA, and have welcomed him back into the fold.

Limerick opposition to IFA’s signing of the partnership deal with the Government had led to strained relationships with Dillon. But farmers now consider that he is doing a good job.

Limerick’s IFA executive - which twice voted against the partnership deal and instructed its members to oppose signing at the national council meeting in Dublin - has now sent Dillon a congratulatory message on what has been achieved.
