Farmers finding it harder to make a living

FURTHER signs of the competitive pressures engulfing Irish farmers are continuing to emerge.

It has been known for some time that significant amounts of beef, chicken and pork are being imported.

The booming catering trade is a huge buyer and meat processors are also in on the act as price pressure continues to erode margins.
