When youâre working away from your desk, whether travelling or hot-desking, the ESR HaloLock MagMouse brings a fresh take on portability. With its snap-to-carry magnetic design and laptop-charging convenience, it makes mobile productivity easier than ever.

Weighing just 75 grams, the MagMouse is light yet sturdy, with a clean, modern design available in black, grey or white. Using a residue-free adhesive pad, the MagMouse simply snaps onto the lid of your laptop or tablet with a reassuring hold of 600 grams. Itâs a clever way to carry a mouse without cluttering your bag or pocket. That said, not everyone will want to attach the residue-free magnetic base to their laptop or tablet. It can feel a little awkward having the mouse stick out when sliding your device into a bag, though others may find it incredibly useful depending on their workflow.
The 2.4Ghz dongle has a neat storage space in the base of the mouse, ensuring you wonât lose it easily. Here youâll also find a slider switch for off, Bluetooth and 2.4GHz modes.
A small but thoughtful design touch I came to appreciate is the ribbed rubber grips on either side of the mouse, which make it more ergonomic and practical to use.

Unlike most portable mice, the MagMouse ditches disposable batteries and tangled cables. Instead, it has a built-in USB-C charging cable neatly tucked inside. In practice, you can plug it straight into your laptop for fast charging on the go. A quick one-minute charge gave me around four hours of use, while a full 45-minute charge lasted me weeks of daily work.
It also supports both Bluetooth 5.0 and 2.4GHz wireless modes, which means I was able to switch between my laptop and tablet without any fuss. The adjustable DPI is a must-have feature in a mouse for me, and the MagMouse, which ranges from 800 to 4,800, gave me enough precision for editing images as well as smooth scrolling for day-to-day browsing.

During my time using the MagMouse, it impressed me with its balance of comfort and practicality. That said, it is a travel mouse and smaller than my standard desk mouse.
The four-way scroll wheel is handy, while the silent clicks and well-shaped body keep it comfortable even during long sessions. I also appreciated the back and forward navigation buttons, which made everyday browsing feel faster.
Connectivity was rock-solid, with no noticeable lag whether I was using Bluetooth or the USB dongle.
The magnetic carry feature isnât for me, but I can see how it could be helpful for those who spend a lot of time moving between their desk and meetings. Just being able to snap it to a laptop lid frees up pocket space and keeps everything streamlined.
The ESR HaloLock MagMouse is one of the best travel mice Iâve used, combining portability, quick charging, and reliable performance. If youâre often working away from your desk, itâs well worth buying.
