Cyber expert warns employers that ex-staff are accessing their data

Former employees are accessing data from their previous employer, and many are using that data to help them in their current job, security survey finds

Organisations urgently need to review the management of their systems as a worrying number of former employees retain access to the data of their prior employers.

Research by Cork-based HCS has found that a fifth of office workers in Ireland have access to the company data of a previous employer. The survey by HCS, an IT, cybersecurity, and digital transformation services company, also found that 48% of these workers use that previous employer’s data to help them in their current job.
