The European Court of Justice has ruled that an EU-US agreement to transfer data to America is invalid.

The case was taken over concerns about the transfer of data from European Facebook users to the US where there is less protection.

The ruling means an agreement between the EU and US called the Privacy Shield is now in doubt.
