10th Anniversary iPhone could cost $1000

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 8 flagship smartphone could cost more than $1000 when it’s released later this year, as reported by Fast Company.

The 5.8-inch iPhone 8 is expected to feature an edgeless OLED display and may incorporate the device’s Home button into the screen.

OLED displays cost around twice as much to manufacture as the LCD displays used in the current line of iPhones, which in part explains the new model’s high-end price.

Apple is also believed to be considering utilising Lumentum’s 3D-sensing technology in the iPhone 8, and the device may be called the iPhone X in honour of the original iPhone’s 10th anniversary.
