Facebook AI now supports image content searches

Facebook has launched a new feature for its network AI that allows users to search for images by describing what’s in the image, as revealed in a blog post by the head of Facebook’s Applied Machine Learning group, Joaquin Candela.

The new feature uses object recognition to find images related to the keywords in your search i.e. ‘photos of dogs’, and includes relevant images that have not been tagged.

Facebook is also introducing a new feature that spells out the action in photos to visually impaired users.

The new Facebook image search feature was launched in the US yesterday.
