Overwatch registers 25 million players
More than 25 million people have registered to play Overwatch, the competitive first person shooter from video game developer and publisher Blizzard, as announced on the company’s official Overwatch Twitter account.
Back in October, Blizzard revealed that Overwatch had 20 million registered players, meaning five million new players signed up to play the game in the three months since.
This equates to a 25 percent growth on PC and consoles, and Overwatch is the fastest game from Blizzard to reach its latest milestone.
Overwatch’s success is likely in part to do with the large number of free content updates Blizzard provides for players.
The latest, which celebrates the Chinese New Year, features new skins for certain players and a range of other in-game goodies.
