New MacBook Pro has no SD card slot

Apple showed off a shiny new MacBook Pro last week, refreshing the highly successful lineup with a slimmer form factor, an improved screen and blazingly fast specs.

You'll be able to do all manner of things with the new laptop, and it's sure to prove popular with creative sorts who want real power on the go. That's all well and good, so long as you don't need to use an SD card slot - because Apple doesn't think you need one.

That's right, they'll be no SD card support in the new MacBook Pro. It's a bit of a strange move given the proliferation of this kind of storage media in the professional camera world. Workarounds aren't particularly difficult but it does require an extra step.
