Mario is coming to mobile – Arriving on iOS first

Nintendo has been testing the waters of mobile in recent months, but made a surprise appearance at Apple’s iPhone conference to announce that a Mario game is coming to iOS.

Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto announced Super Mario Run, an endless runner with graphics from New Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Run is “coming soon” to the App Store and will make its way to Android “at some point in the future.”

There are three modes available – a traditional endless runner with multiple worlds and levels; Toad Rally, which lets players compete against one another to collect coins; and a “create your own Mushroom Kingdom” mode where you use the coins you’ve collected.
