Samsung is recalling all Note 7's due to fire danger

We previously reported that Samsung was having some problems with the battery in their newly launched Galaxy Note 7 and now the problem has escalated to a global recall.

That means every single Note 7 which has been sold has to be returned and sales of the model have been halted. Even though the numbers of failures are very low it's a necessary step to ensure customer safety.

It's also a hugely costly move, not just in terms of actually replacing all the hardware with millions of customers around the world but leaving folks potentially without handsets, which could lead to them going to a different manufacturer.
