Microsoft opens up HoloLens ownership to the public
Until now, you had to be a developer and apply for a chance to buy Microsoft’s HoloLens, its augmented reality headset. Microsoft is loosening up its criteria to purchase one, though you still have to meet a couple of conditions to be able to buy up to five HoloLens units.
For starters, you need to have a Microsoft account, though that is the easiest to check off. You also need to have an address in the US or Canada; those further afield will be hoping that this is relaxed soon. Finally, you need to be able to afford the $3,000 device.
