Jay and Silent Bob could be getting a video game

Kevin Smith's Jay and Silent Bob movies have become cult classics and the iconic characters may soon get their own video game. But it'll be dependant on fans to make it happen.
Jay and Silent Bob could be getting a video game

A crowdfunding campaign for Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch launched on Fig with a goal of $400,000. The game is described as a co-op side-scrolling brawler with players taking control of Jay or Silent Bob on a quest to find out what happened to a mall's missing customers. As well as a variety of melee attacks, players will also be able to utilise a "conversation combat system" called the Convo Combo mode, which has the characters throwing out "Yo' Mama-like insults."

Interabang Entertainment is taking on the development of Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch. Founder Justin Woodward said that Smith's movies have inspired the team since it started, so they're very excited to be working on a game.

"During development for our first game, we'd take breaks to watch them back to back. The iconic characters, hilarious dialogue, and sheer surrealism of the Askew-niverse got us through rough patches during development and life's struggles," he said. "We kept coming back to thinking about how amazing it would be to see Jay and Silent Bob in a game like the ones we design, and we're amazed that we have this opportunity now."

Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch will be released on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
