Instagram may alter how it shows likes

Instagram currently shows the names of users that like a photo if it has fewer than 11 likes, but that may be about to change. The social network is testing a feature that shows all likes as numbers even if there are fewer than 11 likes.

Users have reported seeing this new format over the last few days. Instagram has confirmed that it's testing this feature out, but hasn't said when, or even if, it'll show up for more people.

It's unclear if this new format shows up for all likes or if there's simply a lower threshold. Some users have said that the display switches over after the first three.
