Assassin's Creed will skip 2016 - Ubisoft confirms
The franchise has been going strong since it first launched in 2007, moving to a yearly release cycle with Assassin's Creed Brotherhood in 2010. Releasing such a massive game every year is bound to take its toll, and there has been some fatigue among fans in recent years, especially in the wake of 2014's Unity. Last year's Syndicate was actually a more enjoyable title but Ubisoft has confirmed in a blog post that there won't be a followup this year.
