Overwatch beta returns - Here's what's new

After two months on hiatus, Blizzard's Overwatch is playable again in beta form.

The closed beta returns with a new mode, Control, which sounds a lot like King of the Hill; two maps to go with that mode; a mode that lets you hone your skills as part of a six-person team against bots; and a progression system that gives players cosmetic goodies like icons, skins, emotes, and more.

"At its core, we've designed Overwatch to be a game that's exciting and satisfying to play on its own," Blizzard explained in a blog post. "However, we also know how fun it can be to work toward long-term goals and be rewarded for the time and effort you've put into playing."
