iPhones can soon charge wirelessly

Phone charging hasn't changed much in the last few years, with wireless charging pads being used by relatively few people. Well Apple wants to revolutionise this all-too-popular pastime.
iPhones can soon charge wirelessly

Reports are suggesting that the company is investing in tech which would be able to charge your phone from a distance of up to 10 to 15 feet away. So you could just be wandering around your house or office and be constantly getting more energy from the very air itself.

The technology is still in the testing stages but several companies are working on making a wireless charger which works from a greater distance. One of the issues with this method right now is that the further away you get the less powerful the charge is, so you might be getting nothing but a trickle when you're expecting your phone to be charged. That's something for the science sorts to figure out but if this does become a reality you can expect it to start to filter out into the world at large by 2017 or so.
