Safari crashing? Here's the fix

It's not a great day to be a Safari user, with folks on iPhone, iPad and Mac experiencing trouble with Apple's web browser.
Safari crashing? Here's the fix

We're hearing reports of serious slowdown when navigating the web and in some cases the program is crashing completely. Sometimes just clicking on the search bar makes it hang, and that's something we tend to do quite a lot!

Luckily there's some help at hand, as a few workarounds for the problem have been found. If you're on Mac go to Preferences/Search tab and turn off 'Include Search Engine Selections.' Then restart Safari and you should be good to go - it seems like the issue is stemming from when the software seeks out other search engine results online. On iOS, go to your main phone settings and scroll to Safari, then turn off Safari Suggestions.
