HTC created dedicated company for virtual reality

2016 is the year of Virtual Reality, where the seeds of the technology sowed all the way back in the early 90s finally come to bear fruit, thanks to the availability of systems which consumers can use in their own homes.
HTC created dedicated company for virtual reality

VR is going to be huge for years to come and tech companies are racing to stay ahead of the pack. With that in mind it makes sense that HTC are getting set to create their own dedicated company committed to all things VR. They currently have the Vive headset in the works for an April 2016 release and an independent company could help to steer things without the need for oversight from the parent body.

The Vive has some serious competition in the form of the Oculus Rift, which will arrive a month or so earlier and might also be a good deal cheaper than HTC's model. That said, anyone who is going to be an early adopter of new technology has to be willing to pay a premium and it will be up to these suppliers to ensure that they create value for money and also work on iterating the tech to make future generations considerably cheaper and more accessible.
