Tinder has 100 million downloads

Tinder is big, and it's just gotten even bigger.

During the festive season, the Tinder app crossed the threshold of 100 million downloads around the world. It managed the feat since first launching in September 2012 and comes at the end of a spike in new users which began on the 3rd of January.

In the Tinder app, users seen a picture and some basic information about another person on their screen. Using simple swipes they can decide if they're interested or not so interested in that person and if both parties say yes they get connected. From there you'll have access to more data and can even arrange to send messages to eachother and potentially meet up in real life. It has become an immensely popular way of meeting people, and a very simple system which is backed up by a huge amount of data in the background.
