Rocket League adds Hockey Mode

Rocket League's cars are to become hockey players this winter with the addition of Hockey Mode.

The latest update adds Hockey Mode, in which the ball is now a puck and the arenas look icy, as well as a host of new garage items. This puck doesn't have any traction and can slide up walls quite easily. This will let teams and players approach the game in a new way.

It could be a long-term addition, but the player base will need to support it. Psyonix hasn't set an end time on the mode, so that's reassuring at least.

Players can also grab a range of winter-themed cosmetic items until January 4th. Like the Halloween items, these will be randomly dropped after matches and can be applied to cars so everyone can get in the festive spirit.
