Apple predicts iPhone 6S will sell more than 10 million units

Apple is feeling confident about the upcoming launch of the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. It predicts that first-weekend sales of the iPhone 6S will surpass the 10 million sold by its predecessor last year.

Its stance appears to be warranted. The company has reported strong pre-orders of the iPhone 6S, while the iPhone 6S Plus has sold out online. In addition, it says, customer response to both handsets has been extremely positive.

Apple said, “We are on pace to beat last year’s 10m unit first-weekend record when the new iPhones go on sale September 25.” It did not specify how many pre-orders it has received for either the iPhone 6S or the iPhone 6S Plus.
