Android M is now officially Android Marshmallow

After dropping some heavy hints about Android M’s official name, Google revealed that Android 6.0 will be called Android Marshmallow.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is primarily about delivering stability and performance improvements. But the update will also introduce new features such as Android Pay, an updated power-saving mode, a new app permissions model, built-in support for fingerprint scanners, and support for the USB Type-C standard.

Google has released the "near-final" SDK version of the new operating system for developers.
