Samsung announces Galaxy Unpacked event

At this event, we’re likely to be treated to the official announcement of the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Both devices have been heavily leaked in the last few weeks indicating that their launches are imminent.

Both the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus are rumoured to feature a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED 2K display as well as glass back panels.

It’s thought that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will use the Snapdragon 808 hexa-core chipset, and have a 16 megapixel camera and a 3,000mAh battery.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Note 5 is rumoured to use Samsung's own Exynos 7422 processor, a 64-bit octa-core CPU and the new Shannon LTE modem right on the chip.

It has also been suggested that Samsung is readying a new smartwatch, possibly the Orbis, and a version of Samsung Pay for the event.

All will be revealed on August 13th.
