Star Wars The Force Awakens won't show new footage at Comic Con

The Con is on at the San Diego Convention Centre from the 9th to the 12th of July 2015 and it's a massive showcase, particularly for genre movies. That makes it a perfect platform for Star Wars so you can expect that Disney and Lucasfilm will be bringing their A-game in terms of merchandising, promotion and talent on stage in Hall H.

Surprisingly, JJ Abrams and the rest of the cast and crew won't be debuting a new trailer at the Con. In fact, we're hearing from a couple of sources that there won't be any new footage from the film at all, with the event more focussing on bringing out stars from the old and new films. There are rumours that Abrams will show off a behind the scenes video, giving people a glimpse at the galaxy far, far away and how they brought this spectacle to life.
