Google Fit adds calorie counting and distance measurement

If you update your profile to include gender, height and weight, Google Fit will be able to let you know how far you’ve travelled and an estimate of the calories you’ve burned.A new Google Fit widget will also be released for mobile devices and a new watch face for Android Wear devices. This means you’ll be able to glance at your device at choice to check your stats and, hopefully, get a small burst of motivation. The recent update refreshed the interface, making it easier to navigate and see important data. It’s easier to browse your fitness history and you can look at your activities grouped by days, weeks or months. The updated app should start rolling out today. It will be available from the Google Play Store. Interestingly, Samsung’s Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 4 are no longer marked as incompatible. It hasn’t been said when the new watch face will appear.
