Microsoft Edge will replace Internet Explorer in Windows 10
For starters, Microsoft Edge will be significantly faster than its predecessor and will feature further integration with digital assistant Cortana. This means more personalised results and actions for every user.Microsoft's corporate vice president of operating systems, Joe Belfiore, said that the name refers to āthe idea of being on the edge of consuming and creating.āEdge will be capable of supporting Chrome and Firefox extensions. So if you have some plug-ins that you wonāt be able to leave behind, you can carry them over to the new browser with you.Microsoft Edge, formerly known as Project Spartan, will come with all Windows 10 devices shipped. The eventual plan is that it will replace Internet Explorer for good. Windows 10 will still include a version of Internet Explorer, but itāll mainly be for companies that have developed software to work with it.
