Sony announces Xperia Z4
The Xperia Z4 doesn’t stray too far from Sony’s tried-and-tested design principles. It is just 6.9mm thick, weighs 144g, and has a polished aluminium frame and glass body. The front of the handset features a 5.2-inch, 1920 x 1080 screen. There’s also a 5.1 megapixel front-facing camera with a 25mm wide-angle focal length and digital image stabilisation, while a 20.7 megapixel camera occupies the rear of the Xperia Z4.Internally, the phone is powered by a 64-bit octacore 2.0GHz Snapdragon 810 chip and 3GB RAM. It comes with 32GB of on-board storage, and this can be expanded with a microSD card. The phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and, as you’d expect, is water- and dust-resistant.The Xperia Z4 will be released in Japan this summer in a choice of white, black, copper, and aqua green. No word on a release in other regions just yet, but we’d expect one to be announced.Sony announced the Xperia Z4 and its specs this morning, but only confirmed a Japanese release window during the announcement.
