One of the focal points of Huawei’s presentation was its desire to help creativity bloom. The Ascend P8’s camera will work better in low light conditions, high contrast environments, and will maintain detail at higher levels of zoom. This is made possible by the inclusion of the world’s first 4-colour 13 megapixel RGBW imaging, a best in class Optical Image Stabilisation, and a DSLR-level independent image signal processor. It looks like mobile photographers will be able to have a lot of fun. The Ascend P8 detects faces quickly, has auto scene detection, and features a light painting function along with a variety of other nifty capabilities. Huawei introduced its new knuckle sense technology, which allows you to tap with your knuckle to take a picture. You can also edit a picture immediately by dragging with your knuckle to crop a picture. One of the most intriguing is the director mode, which lets you connect up to four smartphones to record video and create a multi-angled video effortlessly. The Ascend P8 is just 6.18mm thin, making it sleeker than the P7. By comparison, it is also thinner than the Galaxy S6 (6.8mm) and iPhone 6 (6.9mm). It is an attractive device, something that Huawei wanted to highlight. The Ascend P8 has a full metal unibody build, with a balance struck between curves and straight lines. This is most notable when looking at the rear of the device, as the camera is completely flush to the phone’s body. The Huawei Ascend P8 has a sharp 5.2-inch display, which is said to use less power than comparable devices. Of course, we’ll have to use it in the wild to truly put this to the test. To lower power consumption further, Huawei's Ascend P8 introduces an app power consumption firewall. This will block abnormal power usage from apps and keep them in check. Huawei says that its various technologies, along with the64-bit Kirin 930/935 Octa-core chipset will mean 1.5 days of battery life under normal usage or a full day with heavy use.Its other specs include3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, expandable by up to 128GB via microSD. A sizeable 8 megapixel camera, with some clever selfie techology, is located on the front of the device. One of the other features we love is the ability to find our phone without needing someone else to call it. Saying "Hi buddy" will wake your Ascend P8 up, which will then respond when you ask "Where are you?"The Huawei Ascend P8 will be available in a choice of four colours: Mystic champagne, prestige gold titanium grey, and carbon black. The standard Ascend P8 will be available for €499, while the premium model will cost €599.In Short: Huawei today announced the Ascend P8, which it says will enable you to unlock your creativity and take beautiful photos.
