Eircom slashes price of broadband

New customers signing up for Eircom’s standard deal will pay €30 per month, thanks to new price plans announced yesterday. It previously cost €40.

The company also launched its first package aimed at less frequent internet users that have shunned high broadband costs so far and remained with slower dial-up services. The new Broadband Time offer will give customers 20 hours’ broadband access every month for €19.99, the equivalent of €1 per hour. Users who sign up for the deal but go over their 20-hour allowance will pay 4c per minute, the equivalent of €2.40 per hour, for extra time on the web.
