GSK to create 10 jobs in €7m plant

THE world’s second largest pharmaceutical company, Glaxosmithkline (GSK), is to invest almost €7 million in establishing a new R&D laboratory, creating 10 new jobs.

The IDA Ireland-supported expansion at Currabinny, Carrigaline, Co Cork will create job opportunities for 10 high-calibre graduates/post graduates who will carry out research into the physical properties of active pharmaceutical ingredients and the reformulation of HIV products.

Tánaiste Mary Harney said the investment was a further endorsement of the Irish facility which has seen considerable development and expansion since it was established in 1974.
