THE jobs web site RecruitIreland.com had one the highest advertising spends in the industry for the first six months of the year, with a 50% share of the market.

RecruitIreland ups ad spend

New Adspend figures from industry body the Institute of Advertising Practioners in Ireland show that the web site has doubled its share of “voice”.

The figure for RecruitIreland.com is double that of its nearest competitor, Monster.ie, which recorded a 25% share of voice.

IrishJobs.ie, another jobs site, has seen its share decline to 7%.

RecruitIreland invested 225,500 on advertising in the first six months of the year.

This was just under half the spend for the full year 2001.

RecruitIreland.com said the “strong, continued investment” in its brand had paid off, with increased numbers of job applicants and employers using and sticking with the site for their career and recruitment needs.

An autumn advertising campaign will include radio adverts, press ads, slots on Dublin’s DART trains and 48 poster sites.

The two top-spending recruitment web sites secured 75% of the share, compared to a 44% share between them in 2001.

Last year, the top four spending recruitment sites had a 78% share.

“By maintaining our adspend at the same level as last year, we have been able to double our share of voice in an environment where some of our competitors have seen their share of voice disappear altogether,” RecruitIreland.com marketing manager Aoife Curtin said.
