The seasonally adjusted Live Register for December 2025 was 172,200 people, up by 3,000 people from November, figures published on Friday by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) showed.

In Cork, there were 14,161 on the register - up 3.7% from a year previous, and up from 13,133 recorded in November - with 47,215 in Dublin, 6,290 in Kerry, 6,730 in Limerick, 5,659 in Tipperary, 3,941 in Clare, 5,456 in Waterford, and 7,942 in Galway.
