Revenue to advise homeowners of property tax hikes

The new valuation bands will apply for all Local Property Tax charges due from 2026 to 2030

There are approximately 2.05 million properties across the country that are subject to the Local Property Tax.

The Revenue Commissioners are set to write to millions of property owners over the coming weeks to advise them of changes to the Local Property Tax (LPT) system and for them to revalue their homes correctly for the charge.

There are approximately 2.05 million properties across the country that are subject to the LPT. The changes to the tax will see an increase across 20 valuation bands.
