Shares of pharmaceutical companies fell after US President Donald Trump said he planned to order a cut in US prescription drug costs to bring them in line with other countries.

Shares of pharmaceutical companies fell across Europe and Asia after US president Donald Trump said he planned to order a cut in US prescription drug costs to bring them in line with other countries.

In Europe, obesity-drug maker Novo Nordisk fell as much as 8.6% at the open, one of the steepest decliners in the Stoxx 600 Health Care Index, which slid 3.3%.
