Last month saw a robust upturn in Irish manufacturing production, with new order growth accelerating to its strongest level in three years.

Publishing its Purchasing Managers Index survey for April, AIB said domestic demand was the main factor underpinning the boost in manufacturing workloads, offsetting a slight dip in export sales since March.
